Aquaman 2 Review (Spoiler Alert)

Aquaman 2

I had low expectations for this movie given the overall bad reviews I saw before watching. It wasn’t as bad as I expected. Of course, I was surprised by Amber Heard’s screen time given the controversy that has happened in the court between Amber and Johnny Depp. I guess they started filming before all that began.

As much as I like Jason Mamoa, I find his acting terrible. Whatever personality he was trying to pull in this movie feels extremely fake. Bluntly put, it’s like watching a knucklehead parading himself as the king.

His acting makes Amber’s acting decent in comparison, and her acting is also terrible. The impression I got from the movie was Amber is more powerful than Aquaman, even though that’s not supposed to be the case.

The saving grace of this movie was the endearing and funny interactions between Aquaman and his brother. The logic of some scenes is also questionable, but since it’s a superhero movie, I’ll let it slide. The graphics are pretty nice. Plot-wise, leave your brain at the entrance and just enjoy the ride.

The movie’s about 2 hours long and filled with water, so prep for the bathroom before watching 🙂

Verdict: 3/5
